About Michael Moshan

Michael Moshan Attorney at Law brings close to 30 years of focused real estate legal experience to every transaction he handles. Admitted to the New York bar in 1996, Michael built his career exclusively around residential real estate law, developing one of the city's most respected solo practices and guiding thousands of buyers, sellers, lenders, and boards through some of the most complex property transactions in the country.

Michael earned his BA from Washington University in St. Louis in 1991 and his JD from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in 1995. He cut his teeth as an associate at Gold and Gold, PC before becoming a partner at Gold Scollar Moshan, PLLC in 2006. By 2014, he had launched his own firm, Michael Moshan, Attorney at Law, PLLC, where he operates as a true solo practitioner. He has also led a title insurance venture, participated in development projects, and managed his own real estate investments, giving him a 360-degree view of the industry that very few lawyers can claim.

What sets Michael apart isn't just experience. It's the way he works. He doesn't delegate clients to associates or paralegals. He stays in direct contact with everyone at the table: bankers, brokers, managing agents, title experts, and opposing counsel. He's represented foreign buyers in Manhattan's most exclusive luxury buildings and first-time homebuyers purchasing in Brooklyn, the suburbs, and upstate New York. He has served as corporate counsel for a major NYC brokerage, acted as counsel for co-op and condo boards, and advised real estate investors at every stage. His approach to negotiation is firm but pragmatic, focused on solving problems rather than creating them and keeping deals alive without sacrificing his client's priorities.

Michael has made real contributions outside the courtroom too. He trained real estate agents on residential contracts, served as the resident real estate lawyer for 'Buying into Brooklyn,' a Brooklyn Based home-buying crash course, and has been quoted in multiple New York Times articles on topics ranging from 'The Psychology of Moving' to 'Homework for Condo Buyers.' Off the clock, he founded the McCarren Tennis Ladder in Brooklyn in 2012 and later the Westchester Tennis Ladders, which he still runs. In July 2025, he will represent the United States on the men's tennis team 55-plus at the Maccabi Games in Israel. He also co-wrote and co-produced Rock the SAT, a McGraw-Hill study guide published in 2007 that used original rock music to help students memorize SAT vocabulary. When the stars align, he plays aux keys with The Yacht Lobsters. Michael lives in Irvington with his wife Shana and their two boys, Nate and Mack, and counts Chinese beef noodles, the Mets, Premier League football, hiking with his dog Ziggy, and live music among his favorite things.
